Keith’s hot form beats the frost

THE heavy frost on Saturday morning did not hinder week five of the 2012/2013 Andrew Annett Winter League competition at Rockmount Golf Club.

Keith Cranston (06) warmed the fairways and peppered the greens with pin point accuracy to score a tremendous 34 points. His gross score of 42 (six under par) is one of the lowest scores recorded for twelve holes. Keith had birdies at the first, second, fourth, fifth, seventh and ninth, the other six holes were all parred.

Three players managed 33 points. Jim Fletcher (22) was second, Darren Majury (10) was third and Garry Gilmore (10) was fourth. Eight players scored 32 points David Kirk (20) was fifth and Reece Wilson (13) was sixth. The best gross was a three under par total of 45 shots by Stephen Morwood (02). All will receive Paul Banford & Sons Butchers, Turkey Vouchers.

In the four leagues the first and second placed teams are; league A, Anything but Hockey 318 and Handcuffed to an Idiot 317. League B, Oggie and the Sprinkler Heads have 335 and This is Madness have 328. League C, team TBA have 341 and team Andycappers have 317. League D, team Frankly Awful have 328 and team Joseph’s Dream Team 325. The scores do not take into account the dropped scores. In the singles competition’s (0-13) is led by Andrew Mulholland, (13.1-18.5) is led by John Cahoon and (18.6-28) is led by Mike Finneran. Rockmount Golf Club’s Gents Annual General Meeting takes place on Wednesday 28th November 2012.
