Garvey back in the hunt for league title

LISNAGARVEY, having missed league action last Saturday are back in the hunt for the Premier title with a match against Mossley at The Glade this Friday night.

Mossley have been playing their home games on Fridays for the second season as Garvey well remember from their trip there last season. Garvey could only manage a 1-1 draw and the result was the start of the loss of their grip on the Premier League title won the previous year.

This season, Mossley are firmly situated at the bottom of the league and are favourites to take the plunge to Senior 1. However, Garvey have learnt to their cost to take this encounter lightly and will have to produce the form they showed at Shaws Bridge when they beat Instonians by 4 goals to 1.

If Garvey want to keep themselves ‘in the mix’ for the title, they must defeat Mossley on Friday, Harlequins on Saturday week and Civil Service the week afterwards picking up precious points on the way.

The game against Mossley starts at 8.15pm this Friday.
