Dunmurry B triumph in Cordner Cup final

CORDNER CUP

THE Cordner Cup 5-a-sides was played to a finish in the Lisnagarvey Darts League this week, in front of a packed house at the sponsors rooms, Derriaghy Cricket Club.

Dunmurry B proved to be victorious in the competition, securing a fine 3-2 win over Highwaymen A in the final.

Results from the Cordner Cup 5-a-sides were as follows:

DUNMURRY A 2 HIGHWAYMEN B 3

IN quarter final one, Highwaymen B booked their place in the semi finals with a 3-2 win over Dunmurry A.

Highwaymen winners were J. Bishorek, B. Flanagan and N. Cameron.

Replying for Dunmurry were G. Lyttle and N. Blair.

WHITES A 1 HIGHWAYMEN A 3

IN the second of the quarter finals, Highwaymen A secured a semi final place with a 3-1 win over Whites A.

Winning for Highwaymen were E. Mullan, M. Lilley and C. Willis.

Whites’ lone winner was A. Moulds.

WHITES B 0 DUNMURRY B 3

IT was all one way traffic when Whites B and Dunmurry B met in the third of the quarter finals, as Dunmurry eased to a 3-0 win.

Dunmurry winners were C. Waterworth, D. Johnston and K. Watson.

BENMORE B 2 BLEACHERS B 3

BLEACHERS B secured their place in the semi finals with a 3-2 victory over Benmore in the fourth quarter final in the cup.

Winning for Bleachers were S. Rice, I. McAllister and C. Nixon.

Replying for Benmore were R. Somerville and R. Hamilton.

SEMI FINALS

HIGHWAYMEN A 3 HIGHWAYMEN B 2

IT was a derby meeting in the first of the semi finals as Highwaymen A took on Highwaymen B. In a close encounter, it was the ‘A’ team who triumphed with a 3-2 win.

Highwaymen A winners were W. Mullan, C. Willis and S. Willis.

Replying for Highwaymen B were N. Cameron and B. Flanagan.

BLEACHERS B 1 DUNMURRY B 3

EVENTUAL winners Dunmurry B powered into the final with a superb 3-1 win over Bleachers B.

Taking their side through to the final for Dunmurry were D. Scott, K. Watson and D. Johnston.

Bleachers’ lone winner was S. Gillespie.

FINAL

HIGHWAYMEN A 2 DUNMURRY B 3

DUNMURRY B triumphed when they met Highwaymen A in the Cordner Cup 5-a-sides final, taking a fine 3-2, to secure the trophy.

Winning in style for Dunmurry were D. Scott, C. Waterworth and K. Watson (180).

Going close for Highwaymen were C. Willis (2x100) and E. Mullan (140 outshot).
