BALLINDERRY pair, David Peden and Paul Reid won the prestigious Ballybrakes Community Indoor Bowling Club open pairs against strong opposition at the popular tournament

They beat S. Brewster/J. Coburn Ballinrees 11-4 in the semi-final before clinching the trophy with a convincing 13-4 win over international, Margaret Johnston and her son, Billy, in the final. They had already won their way through a large field.

It was almost a Lisburn double, but Nathan Haire, Hillsborough Social lost to Pauline Beattie, St Mark’s Portadown by a shot in the semi-final, having beaten P. Robinson Balteagh in the quarter finals.

Two fine performances in an event which boasts prizes to the value of £1000 and is sponsored by Eamon J. Bradley Car Sales and Taylor Bowls.
