Shankill top team in 1985
Shankill won the Top Team competition organised by the Craigavon Combined Community Association in 1985. In a closely contested final they defeated Gibson’s Hill – but only by a few points.
The final consisted of a talent competition followed by a quiz. The winners got £150 while the runners-up got £50.
Gibson’s Hill led by 10 points after the quiz but Shankill pulled back these points and went on to win 148 to 140.
