The Ulster Senior County team began their new campaign in the English Senior County Championships and continued their impressive record in a competition where they have won successive promotions.

They recorded a 10-1 victory over Lothian in their opening match at the weekend and followed it up with a 7-4 defeat of Northumberland in the North Yorkshire Performance Centre in Division 2 North.

They will be across the water again before Christmas when they will be at the Huddersfield University Sports Centre to face Lancashire 2 and 3.

Recently they launched a partnership with Walsin, an acknowledged leader in aluminium glazing systems throughout the UK and Irish markets, and which is based in Lisburn,

Now boasting a team of 40 staff and over 40 subcontract installers, Walsin has grown significantly over the years having undergone a number of important changes to ensure that it continues to meet the requirements of the marketplace.

The company’s product range includes aluminium window systems, doors, curtain walling, shopfronts, roof glazing and frameless bolted glass assemblies and are an approved fabricator for Metal Technology.

Now with Walsin on board the Ulster Senior team will be hoping that this will provide a further springboard to the team’s quest to break into the Premiership with its top ten teams featuring in what is the flagship tournament of English Badminton.

It also showcases the best players within the sport and is a pathway for talented players to aspire and achieve their potential.

Within a local context Ulster will also have high hopes of capturing the All Ireland Interprovincial title to be held in Dublin in March 2016.

Many of those who will be chasing selection for the Ulster Senior County side were on view at the recent Ulster Open, with Tony Murphy & Tony Stephenson taking the Men’s doubles title while siblings Ciaran & Sinead Cambers took the Mixed doubles. Sinead also lifted the Women’s doubles title. Both partnerships from Lisburn represented Northern Ireland in the 2014 Commonwealth Games and have been key members of the Ulster Senior Team for over five years.

Walsin Ltd is therefore proud to be supporting Ulster Badminton and would like to wish the team the best of luck for their season.
