Success at NI Championships for Taekwondo Club

Lisburn Racquets Club played host to the Northern Ireland International Taekwondo Championships on June 20.

Over 330 players from across Northern Ireland, Ireland, UK and Europe took part in this prestigious event with International referees from the UK, Portugal, Denmark and the Czech Republic.

The quality of players at the event was of the highest standard with many European and world players taking part.

Lisburn Taekwondo Club was well represented. Although it was the first competition for many players they all performed to the best of their ability taking home an impressive 43 medals, earning the first place trophy as the best team at the championships.

Victoria Kirkpatrick was Lisburn’s best player of the day picking up a Gold, Silver and a Bronze medal.

Master Peter Stewart of Lisburn Taekwondo club would like to extend his thanks Lisburn and Castlereagh sport for their continued support of its players and Lisburn and Castlereagh council for supporting the Championships.
