Lisnagarvey ladies bowls team gain five points in win over Lurgan

Lisnagarvey ladies bowling team saw an improvement in their form on Thursday 30 July as they won five points against Lurgan.

Two of the rinks won comfortably while the other two were unlucky to lose at the last couple of ends.

Moya McLean’s rink with Mae Gibson, Marilyn Kerr and Winifred Cameron 18 M Ward 11.

Vera McCourt’s rink with Mirdza Oak, Marion Stevenson and Betty Campbell were 6 shots up by the fifth end and went on to win by 21 shots to 14 against I. Anderson.

Denise Smith’s rink of Liz Fletcher, Bridie O’ Rourke and Margaret Snodden got off to a good start but faltered mid match losing a 4 in the 17th end to lose 14 to 16 scored by A Thompson’s rink.

Kay McCully’s rink with Ann Corry, Ruth Tolerton and Joyce Lyness had a very low scoring close game against I Doone’s rink losing two shots in the last end to go down 10 shots to 12.

The next match is against Newcastle in Newcastle on August 6.
