Friends’ School triumph at Schools’ Championship

Twenty-one School teams recently gathered at Kirkistown Castle Golf Club to battle it out for a place in the All Ireland Schools’ Final in 2016.

Sullivan Upper led the charge early on scoring a combined nett score of 144.

At the half way point RBAI tied Sullivan for the lead with David Keery (88), Aaron Marshall (71) and Rory Sloan (73) scoring well for RBAI.

The rain made conditions tough for the remaining teams but they battled through and Rory Brown from Friends’ scored an exceptional net 64 showing a tremendous display of driving! As the last four ball came in Friends’ took the lead with a nett 141: Rory Brown (64) Brian MacAuley (77) and Harry Scott (81).

Friends’ remained on top and will now progress to the All Ireland Final in April 2016.
