On Sunday (21st June) in the Barton Shield foursomes, the pairings of Graeme Dickson and Darren Crowe, and Stephen Crowe and Glenn McAuley took on a strong Cairndhu side and managed a five hole success in the morning.

This meant they had to take on Belvoir Park in the afternoon and a very impressive performance from Graeme and Darren saw them seven up after 15 holes thanks to five birdies and no dropped shots.

Stephen and Glenn also had gone two after 14 to give Dunmurry a great nine hole victory.

In a tight contest, Dunmurry ran out 4-3 winners with Stephen Crowe, Graeme Dickson, Glenn McAuley and Michael Dickson the successful golfers.

This meant they travelled to Kirkistown on Sunday (21st June), with only a one match advantage, however victories from Darren Crowe, Graeme Dickson, Michael Dickson and Stephen Crowe ensured another 4-3 victory and an overall 8-6 win.

They now play Belvoir Park in the quarter-finals to be played by July 20.

This Sunday (28th June), Dunmurry’s Senior Cup team head to Hilton Templepatrick to play Ballyclare with the winners to play either Shandon Park or Whitehead in the afternoon for a place in the Ulster semi–final on Sunday 16th August at Portstewart.
