Dunmurry Ladies’ Senior Foursomes team won a significant match against Portrush Ladies on Sunday afternoon.

Having lost 2-1 away, they were up against a big challenge against a very experienced Portrush side, some of whom had represented Ulster and Ireland in the past.

However, the Dunmurry ladies were well up for it under the captaincy of Fionnuala, who was herself on the team.

Dunmurry took the first match early, the Cathcart girls Laura and Ashleigh breezing through to win on the 12th which gave the team a great boost.

Donna and Joni had it all to do with a combined handicap differential of 10. They soldiered on but lost on the 15th.

It was now resting on team Captain Fionnuala and Elaine to win their match. They were three up with three to play and it went all the way to the 18th, where they got the win. What a match!
