Ballinderry triple reach Irish final

The Ballinderry triple who qualified from the Lisburn Zone Championships have reached the final of the Irish Short Mat Championships on Saturday, April 2.

Paul Reid, Gordon and Raymond Stubbs won through the qualifying stage, held at Belfast Indoor Bowls Stadiun, beating the Killymurris trio of S. Dunlop, M. McCullough and J. McWhirter 9-7 at the semi-final stage.

They had beaten J. Calvin, Loughanreagh 10-3 in the previous round.

They face A. R. and P. McKeown, Mossley in the final. The same Ballinderry triple won the Irish title in the 2011/12 season.

It was a good few days for Raymond Stubbs, who won the singles title at prestigious Belmont short mat tournament.
