St.Joseph's hold their annual U12 football blitz

St.Joseph's G.A.C. Glenavy welcomes all U12 teams, their coaches, families and supporters to Chapel Hill for their 11th Annual Invitation Football Blitz Tournament on Saturday 2nd July from 10am '“ 3pm.

Teams taking part are from the following counties: Antrim, Armagh, Tyrone, Derry and Fermanagh.

Team registration will be at 9.30am sharp and games will begin at 10.00am. Three pitches will be used during the Blitz.

Four groups will play a round robin league. The top two teams in each section will play quarter, semi and final for the Camlin Credit Union Cup. The third placed group teams will play for the Cormican Shield. The fourth placed teams will play semi and final for the Creaney Plate.

Games are played nine-a-side with four subs. Teams line out with three backs, three midfielders and three forwards. Only points will be counted, a ball finishing in the net will count as a wide (no goalkeeper - no goals).

Although this is a competition, participation, enjoyment, making friends and sport should be the winner. The clubs young whistlers will be helping with refereeing.

Remember they are young and must be encouraged. The club wishes to thank all the clubs and their teams for taking part and wish everyone a very enjoyable day’s football.
