It was the second attempt to host Daphne Bailie’s big day as the first one had been rained off just two weeks previous.

The course was in magnificent order, the greens were smooth and extremely fast which lead to fierce competition between over 85 competitors.

At the evening prize-giving, the Lady Captain Daphne Bailie welcomed the Lady President, Lady Vice Captain, Past Captains & Presidents and ladies.

“I enjoyed my first lady Captain’s day but I’m sorry it all turned out so wet and you all had to run from thunder and lightning,” she said. “Thank you to everyone for the gifts, cards and flowers which all made it really special for me. The Charity donations raised £538 which went to my chosen charity Diabetes UK.

“Thank you to Doreen Green for the invitation for myself and Daphne Houston to play in her Lady Captain’s Day at Temple Golf club. We both had a wonderful day. To Lynn our Secretary who is making a wonderful job of “Give Golf a Go” her hard work and commitment to this scheme has been outstanding also to the ladies who have put their names down to take the ladies out on the course.”
