THE good weather last Saturday morning brought good scores in Lisburn’s Winter League.

A shower in the afternoon did not prevent eighteen competitors scoring 20 points or more.

Robert McCoosh (13) was declared the winner with 21 points having played the nine holes in 39. Gregory Law, Ben Kirkwood, Stephen Leathem and John Poole tied on 20 with Ben coming second on count back.

Brian Sparkes (18) and Michael McNeice (18) tied on 21 points at the top of Section 2 with Brian’s better finish securing top spot.

Bob Hope, William Friars, Chris Davis, Tom Crawford, Philip Stewart and Ian Robinson all finished one point in arrears with William getting third spot on count back.

A handicap reduction kept Wesley Haslett out of the prizes in Section 3 leaving John Dale (24) in first place ahead of John Patterson (24) on count back after they tied on 21points.

Derek Gallagher (20) and Sam McCallister (21) tied on 20 points with Derek being awarded third place.
