Whites ready for Glentoran challenge

Have your say

TIM McCann says his Lisburn Distillery side are prepared to ‘sweat blood’ for their team as they ensure the Whites don’t suffer another defeat.

A tricky home tie against Glentoran awaits tomorrow (Saturday), but McCann is confident his side can follow up last week’s draw with Coleraine with another good performance.

“We have a big weekend ahead,” said McCann. “We have to make sure now that no matter what, we don’t get beat. Anything else then is a plus.

“Against Coleraine the boys sweated blood, they gave everything and deserved all three points. I would put us up against anyone in the league, it’s about getting that quality and getting goals.

“The only way is up,” McCann added. “We’re playing good football, there’s a good buzz about the place.”

McCann says he will ‘stick by his word’ and reward players who deserve a place in the team. “If they earn the shirt they can keep it, whether it’s our captain or leading goalscorer coming back. I said that when I arrived here and I hope the boys will see that I mean it.”
