Welders hit Whites for six at New Grosvenor

A vastly under strength Lisburn Distillery team certainly missed their seven absentees last Saturday as they were thumped 6-0 by H&W Welders.

The Whites had conceded no less than ten goals in their previous two home games and things looked ominous form the start of this one as Mark Magennis opened the scoring. Michael McLellan added the second after Marty Young was adejudjed to have handeled inside the area.

Another ex Premiership striker David Rainey netted the third, keeper Ryan McBride again helpless.

Ryan Deanes added a fourth before the unfortunate Morrison put through his own net and Rainey added the sixth on the rebound after a smart save from McBride.

Distillery had a late chance for a consolation from a Southam freekick however the ball flew over the bar to sum up the Whites day.

A poor day all round then for a make shift Lisburn Distillery team and how appropriate that on Grand National day that there were indeed “Many Clouds” of disappointment that moved across New Grosvenor.
