‘We got what we deserved’ - boss

Lisburn Distillery manager Tommy Kincaid says his side got what they deserved on Saturday - nothing.

Kincaid said that despite recent results, Saturday’s home clash with Armagh City was the first time he felt his side deserved to lose.

“We’ve had some disappointing results recently but Saturday was probably the only game we got what we deserved,” Kincaid said.

“We didn’t create as many chances as we have been. We discussed Armagh’s danger from set pieces ahead of the match and had organised as best as we could, so for them to have scored from a set play was disappointing.

“The mood of the players is disappointed but it’s early doors in the season.

“I understand people on the sidelines, the fans, are frustrated.

“This is the only game we deserved to be beaten.”

The Whites are back to Cup action on Saturday with a Steel and Sons Cup match away to Carrick Rangers.

“We have to make sure we’re ready for Saturday. We want to try and get as far as possible, hopefully the final.”
