Rangers U15s tame the title favourites as Shorts await

Ballymacash Rangers Under 15s inflicted a first South Belfast League defeat of the season on H&W Welders on Saturday morning.

They ran out 3-1 winners at the Billy Neil Playing Fields and in doing so leapfrogged H&W into second place.

Goals from Ben Welch, Jake Ross and Adam Wright were enough for a dominant Rangers side, who created numerous chances and also missed a penalty.

That was good going against a side who would be many people’s favourites to win the league.

Rangers will need to be at their best again this Saturday morning when they face a Shorts side who on their day are capable of taking points off anyone.

The game is due to be played at the Bluebell with a 10.30am kick off, weather permitting.
