‘Proveyourselves’ says Kincaid

Distillery boss Tommy Kincaid has challenged his players to prove why he should keep them for next season.

The Whites all but sealed their Championship One survival with their win over Limavady on Saturday. Now Kincaid admits his attention is slightly turning to the summer transfer window and where he can improve the squad.

He said: “You tend to start thinking about that but we can’t take our eyes off each match. I know what they can and can’t do and I have an idea but if anybody wants to stay at Distillery, they have to prove why they should stay.”

Their next chance to impress the boss will be tomorrow (Saturday) as the Whites take on basement side Coagh United at New Grosevnor (kick-off 3pm). Despite their opponents’ lowly position, Kincaid is taking nothing for granted.

“We never get anything near an easy game against Coagh. We were 4-1 behind in that game before we came back and there were seven players sent off. It was an absolutely bizarre game. Those sort of things don’t come around too often, thank goodness!”

The Whites are without suspended Jimmy McIlhagga and Neil Alderdice.
