Lisburn Youth held on for a 3-2 win over Carrick Rangers in the under-13 section of the Lisburn Junior Invitational League and this kept them in fourth place.

Dylan Sinnerton levelled at 1-1 and goals from Travis MacFarlane and Michael Helmke made it 3-1 for Youth and a late Carrick effort just failed to produce an equaliser.

Several matches were off because of NI Cup involvement.

Match of the Day

Keeper Nathan in top form

1st Lisburn 7 Lambeg Rangers 2

He may have conceded seven goals, but Nathan Craig was in superb form for Lambeg Rangers in the 7-2 defeat by 1st Lisburn in the Premier Division of the South Antrim League.

This was his first game for Lambeg and he got a lot of practice, but Nathan certainly could not be faulted in a fine performance.

His performance helped struggling Rangers hold on to 0-2 for a long time and that was a big improvement on past results.

Jordan Kennedy set up the chance for Graham Nixon to pull one back, but 1st responded with a third goal before half-time.

After the break Peter Johnston hit a post and Peter Marlow pulled the score back to 4-2, but in the end 1st were just too strong.

After being unable to contact the 1st Lisburn management this gave the opportunity to run the rule over bottom of the table, Lambeg. They may be losing matches but the enjoyment is still there, probably mainly due to manager John Kennedy, who is working hard to gradually improve the Rangers’ record.
