Kincaid’s boys have found their shooting boots

Wins are like Belfast busses for Distillery these days.

Having waited over two months for a victory, two have come along at once as they added a win over Limavady to the three points they picked up at Ballyclare the week before.

It was all much to manager Tommy Kincaid’s delight.

He said: “What we did again on Saturday, as we did the week before, was take our chances. We were creating the same amount of opportunities the weeks before but we started to take them the past couple of weeks.

“We played well. We were maybe a bit lacklustre in the second half because we were well ahead but that was the aim, to get another win, so we can’t complain.”

The Whites had been beaten 1-0 in Limavady the last time the sides met, even though it was Kincaid’s men who had the majority of the chances.

The boss said: “It’s something we talked about before the game. We knew we had to take our chances because we dominated the previous game against them. When you don’t take your opportunities though, one goal for the opposition and that’s all your hard work gone.”

The Whites welcomed back Ben Browne, who returned from his trials in America and came straight back into the line-up and etched his name onto the score-sheet.
He said: “Ben hasn’t played competitively for a while but we know what he can do. He is well capable of coming straight in and doing what he did on Saturday - getting himself on the score-sheet.”

The win puts Distillery 13 points clear of the relegation zone but Kincaid isn’t counting his chickens just yet.

He said: “We don’t want to take any chances. We’ll keep going and try to win as many games and put as many points on the board as we can between now and the end of the season. We want to get as high up the league table as possible.”
