Coleraine went down 1-0 to Cliftonville at the weekend to bring a four game unbeaten run to an end.

Kearney though was pleased with his side’s efforts on the day. “I said to the lads after that as disappointed as we are to lose the game they are honest lads and they put in a real shift today and worked hard,” he told Times Sport.

“There will be other weeks when we play like that and those chances will all hit the back of the net.

“Today that’s the wee part which has let us down, but they key ingredients we look for every week is the hunger, the desire and the work rate.

“To be fair we are getting that, we got it today in abundance. It’s up to us now to regroup and set out to get three points on Saturday.

“The most important thing for us is to get back to winning ways again. 90% of the ingredients were all there, but we’re judged on goals and the final score, we have to work on that, making sure we hit the net against Glenavon.”
