They have been in the League for five seasons and in the first year they won Division 1 with a 100 per cent record - and this is the only time the feat has been achieved.

After promotion to the Premier Division Glaston finished fifth and added another trophy to their collection when winning the Gordon Hanna Trophy with a 4-3 extra time win over Sporting Lisburn.

The third year saw them finish third in the League as they steadily progressed, but it was a trophyless season.

The fourth term in the League could arguably be described as their best. They started by winning the Ironside Cup thanks to a Sean Armstrong goal against Sporting Lisburn. This was followed up by winning the Premier Division title and they had reached the pinnacle.

Last season they were runners-up in the League thanks to a long unbeaten run late in the season. But, they could claim to be the only team who champions, Warren YM, did not beat.

They had to wait to the end of the season to complete a full set of trophies. After beating Sandy Row 2-0 in the Supplementary Cup semi-final Glaston went on to beat Braniel YM on penalties in the final.

Seven players have all five medals - Gerard Chapman, Paddy Macklin, Paul McCann, Conor McKiernan, Michael McLaughlin, Thomas McNeill and Paul O’Hare.

At the club awards Jim Mullan was top goalscorer with 41 goals and also player of the year. Ryan Hall received the clubman of the year award.

Of course, any club is not kept going solely by the players on the pitch and at Glaston there is a lot of hard work done by Brendan Dornan and Colm McCann week in, week out

But, Glaston hope to take their winning streak a little further and are looking for new players. Anyone interested can contact Brendan Dornan at 07971868474.

Amazingly they cannot obtain a sponsor and they would be delighted to hear from anyone around the Lisburn area. Anyone interested can contact Brendan.
