GORDON HANNA TROPHY

Glaston and FC Utd Lisburn battled it out for a place in the Gordon Hanna Trophy quarter finals on Tuesday night, but it was all in vain for the referee decided after a 3-3 draw in extra time the light was too bad to take penalties.

Conor Hughes hit a hat-trick for Glaston but Division One side FC Utd Lisburn replied with an own goal, Andy Ginn and Simon Hall scoring. FC beat Warren YM in the previous round and were again on the verge of a shock.

The game will have to be re-arranged at a time when matches are piling in for secretary, Mark Fenton, and a question to be asked is, should the ref have played extra-time or went straight to penalties?

On the same night, Clonduff beat Lisburn Athletic 3-0 to set up a quarter final tie with Ballymacash YM. Their scorers were Jonn Bowes, Ryan Craig and Trevor Smyth.

Jamie Galston got the only goal for Bloomfield III against Belvoir FC and ruined the prospect of an all-Belvoir quarter final. Bloomfield now play Belvoir II.
