The South Antrim League’s Ironside Cup has been whittled down to five teams and there is every prospect of an interesting final on Boxing Day.
Glaston and South Antrim will clash in one semi-final and there is little between the teams. Glaston, though, have won the trophy while South have never made the final.
The other half of the draw features Ballymacash YM III waiting on the winners between Taughmonagh YM and Warren YM.
Naturally Ballymacash III are total outsiders and the other pair will be looking on their quarter final as the actual semi-final.
But Taughmonagh and Warren will surely take nothing for granted and their meeting is certainly hard to predict with Warren former winners and Taughmonagh fancied by many as League winners, though they do include players who have won Ironside finals.
Ballymacash have time to reflect on the outcome and believe anything can happen at the semi-final stage.
