First Lisburn make it two wins from two starts
1st Lisburn II made it two wins from two starts in Division 1 of the South Antrim League when they beat Warren YM II 3-1 on Saturday.
They had beaten last season’s promoted team, Ballymacash Rangers II, in the opening game and followed up with another good win, 3-1 over the other promoted team, Warren YM II.

Hide AdBut, manager, Alan Hanna, was cautious, saying: “We have a limited panel of players available and will take each game as it comes, but right now I am happy with the results.’’
A Scott Parker free kick caused problems for the Warren defence and Phil Ross pounced to open the scoring.
Ross got the second goal and it was a fine individual effort when he started his run 20 yards out, beating a few players before finding the back of the net.
Around the hour mark 1st made it 3-0. Willie Lucas could not believe his luck when the Warren keeper dropped the ball and he took full advantage.

Hide AdWarren dominated the remainder of the game and were rewarded when Jordan Cairns finished well.
Steven Hamilton, the Warren manager, said he would be taking several positives from the game and hopefully build from them.
“We have at least three players missing and have three goalkeepers in our squad. 1st Lisburn played the better football, but we fought till the end and must have learned a few lessons,’’ said Steven.
The 1st Lisburn boss, Hanna, was also happy with their defending and added that they played some good football.
