Visitors are always welcome at New Grosvenor so last Saturday the club was delighted to welcome a young lady from Minneapolis, USA after their game against Knockbreda.

Ellie, who attended the game with long-time Distillery supporter George Smyth explained. “I am heading down to Limerick tomorrow and I am going to be studying English Literature at the University of Limerick, this semester and I will be heading back on Christmas Eve,” she said. “I have spent a whole week in Northern Ireland with George and May and it has been excellent - everything is so much more exciting here.”

What did she make of it then? Ellie answered; “Soccer is not a big sport where I live; we are more into hockey, baseball and basketball. This is the first actual soccer game that I have ever been too in my life, it has been a really good time.”

And of course she gave the right answer as to whether she would follow the Whites on the internet over the season – an emphatic “Yes”.
