CLOUGH RANGERS ATH 1 NEWTOWNE 1
This was very close game and at the end a share of the points was probably fair to both teams who both battled hard for the entire ninety minutes. Newtowne took the lead on the 10th minute after Gary Moore scored but after this had to withstand a lot of Clough pressure. Half-time was almost reached when David Nicholl fired home a deserved equaliser for Clough on the 43rd minute setting the game up well for the second half. The pace of the game never slackened during the second half and though both teams created chances in the second half no goals were scored resulting in appoint to each at the end.
