Cup ties present early season challenges

Lisburn Distillery have several testing cup matches ahead as the season gets underway.

First up for the Whites is a tough Steel & Sons Cup tie against Crumlin Star tomorrow (Saturday).

The match will be played at The Cliff, Sea Cliff Road, Larne BT40 1TG and kick off is at 2.30pm.

Elsewhere, the men from New Grosvenor have been given a tough tie in this season’s Northern Ireland League Cup competition, with the Whites drawn to play the current holders Cliftonville in the second round.

The game will be played at Solitude, Belfast on Tuesday 30th August with kick off at 7.45pm.

Meanwhile, in the Irish Cup Distillery have been drawn at home to Rosario in the first round of this season’s competition.

The match will be played at New Grosvenor on Saturday 20th August, please note that kick off in this game is at the earlier time of 1.30pm.

• Lisburn Distillery’s First team squad would like to thank everyone who stayed behind after their recent game to support their fundraising “Night at the races” event.

The players also took part in their own “crossbar challenge” competition which also proved to be a great success on the day.
