Another total wipe out in South Antrim

For a second successive week all matches were cancelled in the South Antrim League and with most of the winter still to come teams will be looking ahead to a frantic and unwanted end of season backlog.

Perhaps it could be eased slightly by making the Supplementary competitions straight knock-outs and even at this early stage it appears something will have to be done to ease the congestion.

There is unlikely to be any help from the Council in extending the season as they have never really done this in the past.

Spare a thought for Sandy Row on Saturday when they made the journey to the Blanchflower Stadium after being told the match was still on in the Gordon Hanna Trophy against Woodvale YM.

They arrived at the ground to find the gates locked.

Match of the Day next week, weather permitting, will be Warren YM II v Woodvale YM in Division 1 at Barbour Playing Fields.
