Byrnes A hit Crows for six to win Cup

In the First Blues Lisburn and District Dart League, Byrnes A won the First Division Cup with a fantastic final display to see off Crows 6-1.

They had beaten Ballinderry 6-2 in the semi-final while the Crows emerged 6-4 victors over Maghaberry A.

The Crows were first up to the oche and won their semi thanks to wins from K Kennedy (2x100, 140), P Lynn (140), W Harkness (140), D Kay (3x100, 114o/s, 21 darts), S Farr (3x100) and T Harbinson (100, 140).

Winners for Maghaberry were P Presho (100, 140), D Hull, R Mitchell (2x100) and S Hull (100).

In Byrnes A and Ballinderry’s sem-final, it looked like there was a hard-fought battle ahead with the scores tied at 2-2.

However, Byrnes had other ideas and with some brilliant darts, took the match 6-2 with wins from D Woolsey (3x100), G Bell (2x100, 180), N Dillon (100, 140, 16 and 19 darts), R Montgomery (2x100, 4x140, 2x18 darts), M McLernon (2x100) and N McCabe (2x100). Ballinderry’s winners were S McMurray (3x100), Nigel Brown (100, 2x140, 20 darts).

The stage looked set for a thrilling final but Byrnes had other ideas with some magnificent scores and brilliant finishing. They ran out 6-1 victors, with wins from D Geddis (125, 2x140, 180, 11 and 18 darts), N Peden (117, 123, 132), N McCabe (2x100, 102, 2x135, 20 and 21 darts), P White (4x100, 19 darts), S Lennon (100, 105) and N Dillon (2x100, 123).

The Crows’ only winner was S Farr (100, 19 darts).

A rearranged fixture between BIBC and Ballymacash took place this week with the bowlers hitting the jack and winning 6-3.

M Ferguson (2x100), J Bunting (2x100), M Riddall (100, 140, 121, 20 darts), E Dobbin (3x100, 123, 125), C McConkey (100, 140) and G Matthews.

Ballymacash winners were S Gardiner (4x100, 140, 18 darts), P McKeown (100, 120, 140 and S Parker (3x100, 135).

The Second Division Cup final also took place in the First Blues.

This proved to be an enthralling match, first favouring one team then the other. It certainly kept the packed house on the edge of their seats with Dunmurry Inn just edging out Maghaberry B 6-4.

Dunmurry winners were A Jackson (100, 140), N Cummins (100), G Andrews (2x100), S Allen, B Halliday (100) and C Orford (100).

Maghaberry B winners were H Heasley, J Crozier, C Camblin (140) and D Jordan.

Byrnes B also played Catch-My-Pal at Magheralin and ran out 6-2 winners through D Moore (100), M Frazier (100), K Byrne (100), F Frazier, G Bassett and C Dynes). CMP winners were S McCurdey and T Watson (100).
