It was a case of strawberries and cream all round this week as 22 pupils and two teachers from Hunterhouse College paid a visit to Wimbledon.

The pupils, along with 23 students and two staff members from Larne Grammar School, met at George Best Belfast City Airport early on Thursday morning for a two day trip to London, with the main purpose of the journey being to visit the All England Lawn Tennis Championships – otherwise known as Wimbledon.

The pupils have been eagerly anticipating the start of the tournament secure in the knowledge that they had tickets for court No 2 and ground passes for the whole day. The pupils can be guaranteed some high quality tennis, hopefully watching players the likes of Serena Williams, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Roger Federer, to name but a few. The pupils indulged in the traditional eating strawberries and cream and browsing the souvenir shops to buy some gifts.
