Callaghan, who is a former player of Limavady Utd, Ballymena Utd, Derry City and more recently Dungannon Swifts, made his debut against Banbridge Town on Saturday.
New boss Brown said he was delighted to have captured the versatile defender's signature.
Brown commented: "He is an experienced player. He has played at Derry City, Limavady, Ballymena and he's an ex-Under 21 international, so he's a very experienced boy. On top of that he's got ability, he's got quality and that's why we signed him.
"He has versatility and can play right across the back line. I am delighted we got him because there were other club's interested in him."
