Derriaghy got their first taste of cricket last Sunday when they played a 40 over friendly at CSNI. They produced a good performance with the ball restricting the home team to 167 for 7 although this would have been a lot less if a few simply catches had been held.
Unfortunately they found batting more difficult with only skipper Andrew Kenny (26) and Craig Lewis (17) getting started as the Queensway men fell 90 runs short. Derriaghy will be hoping for an improved batting performance tomorrow (Saturday) when they face Muckamore in their final friendly at home. This 40 over encounter is due to start at 12 noon.

Derriaghy Cricket Club are holding a registration night for junior members from 8 to 16 years next Friday, April 25 from 6 to 7pm. As well as receiving their registration forms everyone will have the opportunity of meeting new professional coach Kaushik Aphale. Existing members and anyone interested in taking up the sport are welcome to attend.

Outdoor training begins on Tuesday, April 29 for primary school pupils and those in the Under 13 age group and on Wednesday for pupils up to 17 years
