A new ‘holiday generator’ tool has been built to help people who are stuck in a rut when it comes to their annual getaway.

Research has found nearly nine in 10 people who take trips away have returned to a location they’d already visited.

On average, Brits have packed up and headed to the same holiday spot five times. But a tenth have been back to the same place 15 times or more.

The study, commissioned by price comparison site, ebookers, also found more than three quarters of holidaymakers don’t just go back to the same places time and again, they even enjoy the same activities.
