Visitors get warm welcome

President Barbara McClenaghan gave a very warm welcome to Maze Brookfield WI members as well as invited guests at the Visitors' Evening.

The speaker for the evening was Anne McCandless, who founded Norr and Brown Chocolatiers, the name Norr coming from her mother and Brown from her father.

A spokesperson said: “Not only does Anne do a special range of chocolates, she also does celebration cakes, pastries, and ice cream.

“Norr and Brown uses traditional methods with a modern twist.”

There followed a “lovely” supper.

According to the spokesperson, “everyone admired the tasty delights which were made by members of the Maze Brookfield WI committee Members”.

She added: “The competition, for a chocolate cupcake, was won by Margaret Montgomery.

“Ballot prizes were won by a number of our visitors as well as some of our members.

“The birthday girls were Helen Cantley and Heather Wylie, who share the same birthday.

“The evening was very enjoyable and ended with everyone singing The Countrywomans Song.”
