Fears expressed over strike action

Members of Hillsborough Rural Council expressed fears in December 1971 that strike action by Electricity Board workers and coal miners would have an adverse impact on local people, particularly pensioners.

Strike action had been threatened for the post-Christmas period and the council called on the government to set up an agency for anyone affected by any strike action.
