Moira venue for reception

Moira Presbyterian Church is to play host to one in a series of behind-the-scenes receptions staged by relief and development charity, Tearfund.

Beginning at 7.30pm on Friday, June 3, the event will see Paul Francis, from Tearfund’s Northern Ireland office, share highlights from the No Child Taken campaign.

The campiagn aims to help protect vulnerable children from trafficking, disease and disaster, and for which Northern Ireland supporters raised £200,000

Coinciding with Volunteers’ Week, the receptions also provide a chance for Tearfund to recognise the essential fundraising work they do.

David McAllister, Tearfund’s Democratic Republic of Congo Country Manager, will be at Moira to share how churches are bringing help and hope to communities struggling to feed themselves, as the organisation launches its new campaign, focused on hunger. Receptions will also be held in Belfast on 2 June, as well as in Coleraine on 3 June and Enniskillen on 4 June.
