Winnie’s loss felt
in bowling circles

Local bowling suffered another loss during the Christmas and New Year period when former Hilden player, Winnie Hermon, passed away on December 28.

Winnie had to quit the outdoor scene several years ago because of illness and following a distinguished career when she represented Hilden with distinction. She served as ladies president of the club.

Many of the current crop of bowlers may not remember Winnie or her husband, Billy, who pre-deceased her by several years, but those who do remember her will do so with great memories of her talent.

Winnie did bowl later in years in the short mat game at her club, Lambeg Parish, who were struggling over many years to field a team on a regular basis. Winnie, despite he illness, was happy to support the club through a difficult time.

Sincere sympathy is expressed by all who knew Winnie to the family circle on their sad loss.
