THE team at Lisburn-based practice, Affinity Dental Care, are celebrating after their associate dentist, David Buchanan, scooped the Best Young Dentist (Northern Ireland) award at this year’s Dentistry Awards.

Held on Friday December 7, the Dentistry Awards is one of the most celebrated events in the dental industry, honouring excellence in dentistry nationwide.

The awards recognise exceptional individuals, teams and practices who strive to provide dental care at its very best, and are judged by a prestigious panel of experienced dental professionals, lecturers, and editors from dental publications.

The glittering awards ceremony was held at the Athena in Leicester, England, and guests were treated to a champagne reception, three course meal and entertainment from England rugby international Martin Bayfield.

David Buchanan was recognised in his category for his outstanding levels of patient care and clinical excellence.

Principal dentist at the practice, Dr Paul Thompson, commented: “The whole team is delighted and extremely proud of David for winning Best Young Dentist, Northern Ireland. We strive to provide our patients with the highest standards of dental care and David is an integral part of our team.”

David commented: “Winning the award feels fantastic and it’s a real honour to be recognised as there were many other well respected dentists in my category.

“I’d like to thank the Affinity Dental Care team for their support and I look forward to 2013 and continuing to look after our brilliant patients,” he added.
