Ulster Unionist member Mark McKinty is relishing the challenge of representing Larne Lough on the new Mid and East Antrim Council.

The Magheramorne man, who is a former deputy mayor of Larne Borough Council, took the second seat on Larne Lough DEA, reaching the quota of 948 votes at the third stage.

Mr McKinty said he is looking forward to serving local people and added: “The super-council will have a number of new powers and will affect people’s lives in a significant way. For me, it is important to ensure that people in my area know how the new council can benefit them.”
