Man arrested for going equipped for burglary

A 24-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and going equipped for burglary in the Lisburn area.

Detective Inspector Mullan said “The man was arrested after the black Seat Leon he was travelling in failed to stop for police on the A1 Carriageway and a short pursuit ensued before the vehicle came to a halt on the Grove Road in Hillsborough. It was at this stage that two other suspects fled the scene.

The man arrested remains in custody at this time assisting police with their enquiries.
