Unemployment rises in Lisburn

ACCORDING to the recent labour statistics released by the Department of Trade, Enterprise and Investment, unemployment in Lisburn has risen by almost 2% in the last month.

There are now 3,735 people claiming unemployment benefit in the city, an increase of 1.9% compared to the previous month.

This is almost 5% of the working age population of the city.

In Northern Ireland as a whole there are 66,204 unemployed people, an increase of 5.5% over the last year.
