AS part of Lisburn City Council’s Good Relations Programme a host of local country stars will be performing at ‘William Caulfield’s Country Jamboree’ at Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn, Monday, 18th March, 8pm, to raise funds for the Mayoral Charity, Stepping Stones and celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

Lisburn Mayor, Alderman William Leathem, speaking at the launch of the concert, said: “I am delighted to announce an exciting evening of country music and no doubt some ‘laugh out loud’ comedy provided by the host, William Caulfield, one of Northern Ireland’s best loved comedians.

“While the concert is about celebrating St Patrick’s Day and everything country, all proceeds will be donated to my Mayoral charity, Lisburn based Stepping Stones.

“I would urge everyone to come along and enjoy a special night and support the valuable work this charity carries out”, he concluded.

Stepping Stones, based at 39 Seymour Street in Lisburn, provides adults with learning difficulties or disabilities with the opportunity to access accredited training towards gaining employment, and aims to fully integrate trainees into society.

Some of the top names in the local country music scene will perform at The CountryJamboree on March 18. International country star Susan McCann will belt out her hits and show band star Ray Lynam and Boxcar Brian, one of the most requested singers on the Hugo Duncan show, will also perform.

The concert will feature 10-year-old Simon Peters from Donegal. Simon is the youngest Irish person to be invited to perform in Nashville and has been described as the next Daniel O’Donnell.

This concert is part of the Council’s Good Relations Programme, which is part funded by the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister.
