Smoke alarm alerts residents

RESIDENTS of a semi-detached house in Stewartstown Park in Suffolk were woken by the sound of a smoke alarm that activated in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A pot had been left overheating on a cooker in the kitchen. The occupants who were asleep upstairs were alerted when the alarm activated and they were able to call the Fire Service who arrived and ventilated the property.
