Shop Front Improvement Scheme is completed
ANTRIM Borough Council has thanked Crumlin businesses for their support and help with the completion of their Shop Front Improvement Scheme.
Karen Brown, Development Manager for Regeneration and Enterprise with the council said, “Antrim Borough Council has recently completed a Shop Front Improvement Scheme in Crumlin in partnership with GROW South Antrim and the property owners.
“A total of 24 properties have benefited and the Council is delighted with the visual impact of the scheme on the commercial centre of the village.”
Karen continued, “I would like to thank the businesses for their commitment to the scheme and especially for their co-operation while the work was taking place.
“I am confident that these improvements will bring a welcome boost to local businesses in the run-up to Christmas and hope that it will help to attract further investment and development to the village.”
Mayor of Antrim, Councillor Roy Thompson commented, “I would like to thank GROW South Antrim for their significant financial contribution towards the scheme and the businesses for their investment and co-operation.
The Council is delighted to see it completed as it has helped us, and our partners, to bring forward a key objective in the Council’s Masterplan for Crumlin.”
Due to the success of the first phase of the scheme, both Council and GROW South Antrim have now committed to a second phase.
Fourteen applications have already been submitted from property owners in the village and for those that are successful, improvement works should be completed by March 2013.
