Road works welcomed
ROAD improvements at the junction of Ballynahinch Road/Magheraconluce Road/Howe Road, Dromara at a cost of over £50,000 have been welcomed.
Lagan Valley MP Jeffrey Donaldson said: “I am very pleased by this announcement at this location, which will see improvement work to realign the carriageway on a short section of the Ballynahinch Road, This will make a significant contribution to road safety for motorists travelling between Ballynahinch and Dromara.
“My party colleagues Paul Stewart and Paul Givan have been working alongside residents and Roads Service to have additional work carried out at this location, after numerous accidents at this location.”
Roads Service expects the works to start on site early this month with completion in March. These dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and Roads Service will keep the public informed of any change. Roads Service has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise any inconvenience to the public.
Lane restrictions will be in place and motorists should be aware that some localised delays may be expected.
Advance notice signs will be erected to advise motorists of the commencement of the work.
