Improvements for church

A LOCAL community organisation will be able to carry out energy saving improvements to its venues and save money during the recession thanks to a grant windfall from the Big Lottery Fund.

Derryvolgie Parish Church has been awarded a grant of £50,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Energy Efficient Venues programme. By saving on energy bills, the groups will be able to put more money into the activities it offers the local community.

The Church will use the grant to carry out improvements to their window glazing in their building. New energy efficient lighting will be installed and draught proofing will be carried out. A gas fired condensing combi boiler will also be fitted.

The improvements will also reduce the parish’s energy bills, saving money that can go back into running programmes and activities.
