BURGLED MUM'S CHRISTMAS IS BACK ON

BIG hearted readers of the Ulster Star has stepped in to make sure Christmas is going to be special after all for the Lisburn mum whose presents for her young daughter were stolen by burglars.

Last week we reported how Terri Jane McClenaghan from Ballymacash had been buying presents since August forher two year old daughter Katie and other family members. But last week her home was broken into and the presents, including a Disney vanity table and Barney soft toys, were stolen.

But since the paper came out Terri Jane says she has been inundated with good wishes, money and presents to replace the stolen items.

She said the kindness so many local people have shown since her ordeal has left her 'gob-smacked'.

"A lot of people have come to me or my mother and have given money and presents," she said. "My Christmas is no longer ruined. I just cannot get over the generosity of people. They have enough to worry about with Christmas coming without having to think about me and my situation, but they have been incredibly kind.

"A lot of the presents are wrapped up so we will not know until Christmas Day what they are," said Terri. "We decided that when people had taken the time and effort to wrap them they would remain wrapped until Christmas Day.

"People have also offered their sympathies as well which is very kind of them.

"A lot of people who donated are anonymous and so I cannot thank them individually which I would love to do, so I hope that they read this and know who grateful I am.

"Some people have given money and we are very appreicative.

"It is not going to ruin my Christmas any more. I just cannot get over the generosity of people - it has made me quite emotional. I am really gob smacked."
